THE GOOD DOCTOR season 3 came to an end last month, leaving fans questioning the future of many of its characters. But will Dr Morgan Reznick be forced to leave next series?
Season three of The Good Doctor came to an emotional end following the death of one of the show’s beloved doctors. Elsewhere at the San Jose St Bonaventure Hospital, while some were expressing their feelings for one another, others were contemplating what will happen next in their careers after the earthquake. Fortunately, the makers of The Good Doctor confirmed in February there will be a fourth series of the ABC medical drama so all of this will be explored more in a batch of new episodes.
An earthquake hit California at the end of series three, leaving Dr Neil Melendez (played by Nicholas Gonzalez) and Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara) trapped inside a building which had collapsed.
On hearing Leah could be in danger, Dr Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) rushed inside the rubble to try and find her, while helping others to escape.
When he came out, he saw Leah was safe but in a moment of gratitude, she told him “you make me more”, before kissing the young doctor.
However, it wasn’t a happy ending for everyone at the hospital.
Melendez survived the building collapsing but during an aftershock, he was struck by rubble which caused him to fall to the ground.
When found, he was taken to the hospital to be checked over and again, it seemed like everything was going to be fine.
He even confessed his love for Dr Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas) when she visited him but things quickly turned for the worst.
Moments later, Melendez went into septic shock from his injuries and died, leaving a heartbroken Claire sobbing by his bedside.
Will Dr Morgan Reznick leave in The Good Doctor season 4?
