The Good Doctor season 4: What will happen to Dr Neil Melendez’s sister Gabby?

THE GOOD DOCTOR season 4 has officially got the green light after the most recent series finished. But what will become of Dr Neil Melendez’s sister Gabby?

The Good Doctor ended its third season on a dramatic story which was split into two parts. The surgeons at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital had to deal with the aftermath of an earthquake after it hit California and care for those injured. Little did they know they were all going to be personally affected by the incident in the ABC medical drama.

After the hospital was alerted about the injured people who needed their help, the staff discovered some of their friends and colleagues were among the casualties.
Dr Neil Melendez (played by Nicholas Gonzalez) and Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara) were both at a charity event when the hall collapsed around them.
On hearing the news Lea could be in danger, Dr Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) went inside the building to try and find her.
Thankfully, she was safe and when she heard what he did for her, Lea kissed Shaun and told him: “You make me more.”

But sadly not everyone was as lucky as Lea on the tragic night.

Melendez was struck by some rubble in an aftershock following the earthquake.
Everyone initially believed he had sustained minor injuries but was being taken to hospital just to be on the safe side.
Dr Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas) visited him and while he laid in a hospital bed, the pair finally confessed their love for one another.
However, their happiness did not last for long as Melendez went into septic shock and died as a result.

What will happen to Dr Neil Melendez’s sister Gabby?

Very little is known about Melendez’s personal life and his upbringing but in the first season of The Good Doctor, he mentioned he had a younger sister called Gabby (Brenda Isabel Santiago) who lived in a care facility as their parents were unable to take care of her financially. ( click next to continue reading )
